Watch “Ghost Forests” on Montana PBS

A hike during the 2019 Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation Conference bookends a new film on whitebark pine set to debut on MontanaPBS at 7 p.m. MST on Thursday, February 18, 2021. “Ghost Forests,” produced by Breanna McCabe, takes viewers into the Rocky Mountains to examine the imperiled whitebark pine and meet the people determined to save it. The 30-minute film also features Parks Canada whitebark specialists working to plant blister rust resistant seedlings, a University of Montana researcher studying mountain pine beetle resistance and an interview with WPEF board member Bob Keane. In addition to a traditional broadcast, the film will stream live online at montanapbs.org/ghostforests and on the MontanaPBS Facebook page, facebook.com/MontanaPBS. For show updates, you also can find @MontanaPBS and producer @BreannainMontana on Instagram.
