FHP Whitebark Pine Restoration Funding (FY2024)
The U.S. Forest Service’s Forest Health Protection (FHP) is now accepting project proposals for its Whitebark Pine Restoration Program. Applications are open to non-governmental organizations, universities, and state, tribal, and federal agencies. FY2024 proposals should emphasize ground management activities or applied research and fit into one of the six key areas: assessing health and monitoring, operational cone collections, harnessing rust resistance, enhancing regeneration and reducing competing vegetation, education/outreach, and other projects related to whitebark pine ecology and restoration. Project proposals must be submitted to Candee Wilfong ([email protected]) by December 15, 2023. Priority will be given to projects that help restore whitebark pine on the ground.
Please see the attached documents for a copy of the funding announcement, proposal template, budget sheet, and progress report template. You also can view examples of past funded projects in the FHP Whitebark Pine Restoration Database. If you have any questions, please contact Christy Cleaver with Forest Health Protection.
